Jayne and Dave, Froginwell Barn & Vineyard wedding – 21^st June 2014

My day started at Jayne’s parents’ house in Newton Poppleford near Exeter for bridal prep. My wife Sarah Bennett was in charge of make-up and as soon as Jayne finished having rollers put in her hair Sarah made a start. I know I am slightly biased but it is always a pleasure working with Sarah because I know she intimately understands what makes a bride look fantastic, and more importantly to me what makes a bride look fantastic on camera.

Jayne had set the date for her wedding coincident with her birthday, which I am sure Dave will thank her for in the future by reducing the number of important dates he has to remember. Jayne’s bridesmaids had lined up a birthday cake for Jayne, creating even further excitement.

Jayne’s morning was fully charged with emotion and after one teary moment, Sarah was re-employed to ensure Jayne’s make up was in tip top shape and ready to go. The time flew by during the morning and it was soon time for me to get to the quaint St Luke’s church in Newton Poppleford near Exeter to meet up with Dave and see how relaxed he was before the main event.

Dave was relaxed but clearly very excited to be marrying Jayne. As the music commenced for Jayne to start her journey down the aisle Dave had a rush of emotion which brought a loving tear to his eye.

Dave’s father had kindly supplied his ‘Morgan’ to transport Jayne and Dave to Froginwell Barn and vineyard, the reception venue. Unbeknown to the couple a close family friend flew in on his helicopter and offered his services to fly them around the bay before heading back to the Froginwell Barn and vineyard to meet the guests. 

By now it was time for group shots and most importantly a feast and the first dance. The sun was fabulous throughout the day however the ‘contrasty’ light was not the most flattering proving to be photographically a challenge, so I decided to leave it until closer to sunset to take the couple photographs. Jayne and Dave had their first date near Budleigh Salterton beach, so it only seemed right to venture back to Budleigh for their first couple photographs as husband and wife.
