Cornish Cider Run – 18th July 2015
I had a rush of blood to the head a few weeks back and I agreed to photograph an event, ‘The Cornish Cider Run’ 2015. Great I thought to myself an ‘organised pub crawl’ I can’t wait!!! I should have known better because I was talking to Dean Burchell who runs DB fitness and Nutrition and of course the Cornish Cider Run Organiser. He encouraged me to do some research about the event, soon I realised I was going to be running around Bush farm in Cornwall trying to keep a few obstacles ahead of 200 competitors, all taking part in a 10 kilometre run. Not just any run but a run with thirty eight gloriously challenging obstacles, including an 800 meter river run, a leap over a fire pits, slippery water slides and lots mud.
I am not experienced of these events but I could tell there was a great atmosphere when I arrived at Bush farm and soon I realised the enormous effort that had gone into making this Cider run a success. The sponsors had clearly chosen wisely to back this one and I am sure the next one will more fantastic business’s queuing up to get a piece of the action.
Below are a few of my favourite images from the day, if you would like to see them all, follow this link PETE BENNETT CORNISH CIDER RUN 2015 and use the access code CCR15.
I had a fabulous day at the race and it carried on well into the early hours of Sunday morning after Dean had invited all competitors to meet for a few well-earned drinks and to swap Cornish Cider Run stories. I look forward to the next event coming up towards the end of the year (5th December 2015) The Cornish Santa Run.
All that remains is for me to say a very well done to all of the competitors. To the DB fitness team and all of their volunteers – You ran a very slick operation and you should be very proud, your efforts were appreciated by all. I look forward to seeing you in December.
