Laura & Stuart Cardiff Golf Club Wedding 30th November 2013
I have known Stuart for a number of years through the world of sail boat racing, therefore I felt delighted and honoured when Laura and Stuart chose me to be their Cardiff Golf club wedding photographer. They gave themselves just five months to plan their wedding! Fortunately, with both Laura and Stuart both being excellent project managers, effective planning of the wedding preparations was always going to be on the cards. It was certainly the first time I had seen Gantt charts and Red, Amber and Green status reports on top of the usual spreadsheets, from any couple!
My day started with some bridal preparations photography, taking place at Laura’s parent’s house. The incredibly talented Sarah Bennett had been employed for her make up artistry skills for the bride and bridesmaids. Laura had a sense of calm on her wedding day while others were experiencing a full range of emotions. Laura’s brother Matthew was due to sing at St Margaret’s church, only he had lost his voice on the lead up to the wedding. The poor lad had his head over a steaming bowl of water for an hour while sat in his morning suit. But he was determined……
The weather was beautiful and the clouds parted in time for Laura to go to the church in her uncle’s vintage car for their wedding ceremony. After the ceremony it was time to head off to the reception which was being held at Cardiff Golf Club. The guests were warmly welcomed with Irish Coffee and Champagne before the wedding breakfast. The winter sun was beginning to set so I grabbed the last of the available light to get the formals and the couple photographs concluded.
By now it was time for the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing late into the night…
I have never photographed a wedding at Cardiff Golf Club before but it proved to be a really lovely venue with great opportunities for your wedding photography.
