Hayley and Neil, St Elizabeth’s House Wedding – 4th July 2015

Hayley and Neil tied the knot at the beautiful St Elizabeth’s House in Plympton, Plymouth on Independence Day. Hayley chose the nearby Elizabethan Manor House, Borringdon Hall to carry out her bridal preparations. When I joined the bridal party in the morning, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, reflective of Hayley’s wonderfully laid back personality. I had previously been introduced to all of the bridesmaids on Hayley’s hen party (that is definitely another story!!), so the good news from a photographers perspective is the personal barriers had already been broken down meaning I could get straight on with capturing moments.

The very talented and lovely Sarah Bennett was in charge of make-up. I am always delighted to work with my wife (Sarah) as she understands what works photographically for brides and uses it good advantage when making them look flawless.

By the time I arrived at St Elizabeth’s House, Neil was there with his best man who is also his father. A tribute to how a father and son relationship can and should be (in my opinion). The best man and ushers were happily jesting with Neil who was clearly very emotional, in a good way, at the prospect of marrying his second true love (second to his football team Liverpool FC), Hayley.

One very emotional ceremony later it was time to enjoy some beautiful sunshine in the impressively groomed gardens surrounding St Elizabeth’s House. The gardens provide a great back drop for the group photos. With time running away after some socialising, lawn games and moreish ice creams, the guest were ushered inside to congregate around the stairs ready for the speeches. More tears from Neil and the occasional glassy eye from Hayley lead beautifully into the rest of the day, where as you can see from the photos the guests really new how to enjoy themselves…………..
