Laura & Lee’s wedding at Mount Edgcumbe House

If you have ever considered getting married at Mount Edgcumbe House and Gardens then let me explain using Laura and Lee’s story, why this is a fantastic place for you and your wedding photography.

As I left my home and headed to Laura’s house to photograph her bridal preparations the fog was thick and you could barely see your hand in front of your face (‘a pea souper’ my father would have called it!). A perfect start to the day as the air was calm and still, the forecast had promised sunshine by ceremony time and although it was April we were not to be disappointed.

When I arrived Laura was very relaxed, sat in her living room admiring the beautiful ethereal mist laden view of the River Tamar, while the hair stylist was busily working her magic. The bridesmaids were flitting around but on the whole there was a sense of calm. As a photographer you know that an atmosphere like this will make great photos.

Laura and I had met previously for her engagement shoot where she had expressed that like many other brides to be she was not keen on the camera. But reassured by my presence, I hope that Laura and Lee’s wedding photography shows that Laura had relaxed into their special day.

As Laura was enjoying the festivities of her last few hour as a bachelorette, Lee had the pleasure of my second photographer following his every move while he used his super human organisational skills to ensure everyone on ‘his team were prepped and ready to go!’. Lee should really consider a career change to become a wedding planner because his attention to detail and organisational skills are sensational. With the groomsmen briefed it was time to go to Mount Edgcumbe House and meet the guests who would soon be arriving from Plymouth by boat, just a short hop across Plymouth sound and a tremendous way to start your guests day.

With the guests all assembled and seated in the main hall in Mount Edgcumbe House we awaited the arrival of the bride. Mount Edgcumbe House offers a unique opportunity for your wedding photography; it has so many vantage points you are spoilt for choice. You have the option of virtually 360 degrees to photograph around the bride and groom during the ceremony this allows me to get a very different perspective of your wedding than standing at the back of the room. The atrium allows for all encompassing photographs of the guests and couple.

After the ceremony the guests assembled for some formal photographs in the Earls garden, an essential part of many wedding couples day. While the guests were drinking champagne I took the opportunity to whisk Laura and Lee away, for a romantic drive around the prestigious estate in the estates Land Rover, to capture some couple photographs, in a few of the endless number of locations, before heading back for the wedding breakfast.

Laura & Lee (testimonial) enjoyed their experience with Pete Bennett Wedding Photography. I hope you enjoy looking at the images of Laura and Lee’s wedding photographs at Mount Edgcumbe House and Gardens as much as I enjoyed making them.
