Mr & Miss Devon 2026 Bodybuilding Photography
Mr & Miss Devon 2026 Bodybuilding Photography | Official Show Photos
On Saturday 5th September 2026, the stage at Devonport Playhouse in Plymouth once again filled with some incredible physiques as competitors came together for Mr & Miss Devon 2026.
Months of training, dieting, posing practice and preparation all came down to a few minutes beneath the stage lights.
I was there photographing the competition. That meant capturing the individual routines, comparisons, pose downs and presentations, as well as those split second reactions when the results were announced.
For me, bodybuilding photography is about far more than simply recording who stood where on stage. Instead, it is about creating a permanent record of the condition, confidence and work that each athlete brought with them on show day.
Mr & Miss Devon Continues to Grow in 2026
One of the things that stood out in 2026 was the continuing growth of the show.
In fact, the organisers reported receiving more applications from female athletes than ever before, so the women’s side of the competition continues to expand.
The standard across the men’s categories was equally impressive. The organisers also highlighted the increasing level of competition and quality being brought to the Mr & Miss Devon stage each year.
Across both the men’s and women’s classes, there were some superb physiques on display.
But the event is about more than physiques.
Behind every competitor are months of early mornings, hard training sessions, cardio, strict nutrition and posing practice. On top of that, there are sacrifices that most people in the audience never see.
So show day is where all of that work finally becomes visible.
Tyvon Brown Crowned Overall Mr & Miss Devon 2026 Winner
The evening eventually came down to two overall champions.
First, Tyvon Brown took the overall men’s title, which put him into the final comparison for the overall show title.
Standing opposite him was the overall female champion, Phoebe Underhill.
After the final comparison, Tyvon Brown was crowned the Overall Winner of Mr & Miss Devon 2026.
It was one of the biggest moments of Mr & Miss Devon 2026. It was also the culmination of an extremely strong performance across the men’s categories.
Phoebe Underhill Wins the Overall Female Title
On the women’s side of the competition, Phoebe Underhill emerged as the overall female champion after winning the Women’s Bikini category.
She shared the Women’s Bikini stage with Jessica Clifford, Sarah Barker and Sophie Hartley. The Bikini classes were also part of a particularly strong female line up this year, reflecting the increasing number of women choosing to step onto the Mr & Miss Devon stage.
Phoebe’s victory then put her into the final overall comparison of Mr & Miss Devon 2026 against Tyvon Brown.

An Unforgettable Day of Bodybuilding in Plymouth
From the first athlete walking onto the stage through to the final comparisons, there was a fantastic atmosphere inside Devonport Playhouse.
The organisers described this year’s event as another step forward for the competition. Meanwhile, the bodybuilding community surrounding the show continues to grow alongside it.
That community also includes far more than the people standing beneath the lights.
Behind every athlete there are coaches, posing coaches, training partners, friends and family members. Together, they support the months of preparation that lead up to competition day.
There is also an entire backstage team working to keep the show moving.
That combination is what creates the atmosphere at an event like Mr & Miss Devon.

What Competitors Said About Mr & Miss Devon 2026
Feedback shared by the organisers after Mr & Miss Devon 2026 gives a good indication of how competitors experienced the day.
Competitors praised the organisation of the show, the backstage team and the communication leading up to the event.
Several highlighted how relaxed and supported they felt backstage. Others commented positively on the staging, presentation and production of the competition.
One recurring theme was that competitors felt individually valued, rather than simply being another athlete moving through the running order.
First time competitors were especially positive about the experience. For example, one described how much they had enjoyed their first show and the people they met along the way.
Another first time competitor said they had loved the experience and were already looking forward to returning next year.
For a bodybuilding show, that matters.
After all, competitors put an enormous amount into preparing for those few minutes on stage. So creating an environment where they can actually enjoy the experience should be part of the event.
The Men's Categories at Mr & Miss Devon 2026
The standard throughout the men’s categories continues to increase.
Condition, muscularity, symmetry, presentation and posing all came together across the different classes. As a result, there were some seriously impressive comparisons.
From individual routines through to the final pose downs, the men’s competition produced some of the most dramatic photographs of the evening.
Stage photography works particularly well when athletes are properly conditioned. That’s because directional lighting across the stage reveals separation, definition and shape that simply isn’t visible in normal lighting.
Those few seconds at the top of a pose are exactly the moments I’m looking for through the camera.
The Women's Categories at Mr & Miss Devon 2026
The continuing growth of the women’s side of Mr & Miss Devon was another highlight of the 2026 show.
With more women applying to compete than ever before, the female classes demonstrated just how much this side of the event is developing.
From Bikini competitors through to the overall female comparison, there was a great mixture of stage presence, conditioning and personality.
There is also something particularly powerful about photographing that moment when months of preparation finally turn into a trophy.
Why Professional Bodybuilding Photography Matters
A bodybuilding competition can represent six months, twelve months or sometimes years of work.
Yet the actual stage appearance may only last a few minutes.
Once that moment has passed, photographs become the permanent record of what you achieved.
Good competition photography should therefore capture:
- Peak condition and muscular definition
- Individual posing and routines
- Stage presence and personality
- Comparisons between competitors
- Pose downs and final calls
- Trophy presentations
- Reactions and celebrations
- The overall atmosphere of the event
These photographs are obviously memories. However, they can also be useful tools.
Competitors often use their show photographs afterwards with coaches or posing coaches. That way, they can assess conditioning, symmetry, presentation and posing before their next competition.
Bodybuilding Photographer in Plymouth
I am a fitness and bodybuilding photographer based in Plymouth, working with athletes throughout Devon, Cornwall and across the South West.
Photographing bodybuilding competitions is one part of that work.
Throughout the year I also photograph bodybuilders, fitness athletes, personal trainers and people who simply want to document the physique they have worked hard to build.
My studio photography is very different from competition coverage.
On stage, I have to work with the lighting, positions and moments I’m given.
In the studio, however, I can build the lighting around the athlete.
Strong directional and rim lighting brings out muscle separation, shape and texture. The result is the dramatic, highly detailed style that has become a major part of my bodybuilding photography.
You Bring the Body You’ve Built.
I’ll take care of showing it at its best.

Looking Ahead to Mr & Miss Devon 2027
The organisers are already looking towards 2027.
The show continues to develop, while the standard continues to rise and the community surrounding it continues to grow.
For some of this year’s athletes, Mr & Miss Devon will have been their first competition.
For others, it will have been another stop in a much longer competitive season.
And for some, it may have marked the best condition of their lives.
Whatever comes next, those few minutes beneath the lights are worth remembering.
If you’re preparing for your next competition or want to capture your physique away from the stage, you can book a dedicated bodybuilding photoshoot with me in Plymouth, at selected gyms or on location.
